
Fall and Winter Events
The wall-to-wall crowds and hot weather have been left behind but there is no reason to stay away from Seaside Heights in the fall. The borough and business association have been very proactive in creating exciting, fun events that make it well worth your while to come visit.
September
Que by the Sea - 2009, held 9/25-27
The first was held in 2009 and next year will mark its return as an annual event. It Features a full weekend of barbecue cook-offs and awards. While the chefs are competing for top honors, visitors are able to feast on the delectable meats and deserts that are being made.
Great American Volleyball
Tournament play
2009, held 9/29
On the beach just across from Blaine Avenue. Admission is free to watch volleyball tournament play with players of all ages and abilities.
October
Walk to Cure Diabetes
10/4/2009
Registration is held at the Boardwalk at Carteret Avenue, with the walk starting at 9:00 AM. In addition to the walk, entertainment and food will be featured as part of the event. Each walker is asked to raise $100 in pledges to take part in the walk.
F.I.S.H. (Fishin' in Seaside Heights)
10/4/2009
10:00 am to 2:00 pm
On the beach, between the Casino and Funtown Piers. A fun and free surf fishing contest for children. Register at the Franklin Ave stage on the Boardwalk. There are two age classes: under 13 and 13 to 16. Registration at the Franklin Ave Stage, with the first 200 participants receiving a free t-shirt.
Prizes for 1, 2 and 3 place.
Italian Street Festival / Columbus Day Parade
10/9-11
From Grant Ave to the Boardwalk, with the Columbus Day Parade topping off the events on October 11.
Harbor Seal 5K Run/Walk
10/17/2009, race at 10 AM
Registration at the Beach Bar on the Boardwalk. Sign up is $20 before 10/10 and $25 from 10/11 through the day of the race. Money raised helps the Marine Mammal Center of Brigantine.
Seaside Heights 1/2 Marathon
10/18/2009, race at 10 AM
Resistration begins at Jimbo's on Grant Ave and the Boardwalk. The race begins and ends at Spicy's on the Boardwalk. Sponsored by the Ocean Running Club
Interclub Surf Tournament
10/18/2009, 6:00 AM to 12 Noon
Fishing from the beach, free admission.
December
First Night Ocean County
12/31/2009, 11 AM to 6 PM
Free entertainment and prizes on the boardwalk. Fireworks begin at 5:30 PM.
Late February
Polar Bear Plunge
Special Olympics Fundraiser. Registration and pledge commitment needed to run into the ocean with hundreds of other people as crazy as you might be.
March
26th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade
mid March
12 Noon, parade with floats, bands and lots more.
