New Year's Eve celebration. From noon to 5:30 enjoy free entertainment and prizes offered by boardwalk merchants. Once it gets dark you can watch the last fireworks show of the year!
  • Polar Plunge - February 27, 2010

Clownfest, 2009, Seaside Heights New JerseyThe borough of Seaside Heights offers a busy schedule of events throughout to the year. Many of these happenings are designed with family fun in mind. One of the most popular events during the summer is the Wednesday night fireworks show. Fireworks events are also put on during a few non-summer holidays.

The most popular events, besides the fireworks, are numerous parades and weekend celebrations. The Saint Patrick's Day Parade, Seaside Music fest, the Easter Parade, and other events are really just big town wide parties. Seaside does have it easy in hosting these fun events. They have the boardwalk at their disposal and for big parades they turn the Boulevard into a car free area.

One of the great things about Seaside Heights in the summer is the weekly fireworks show. These are presented every Wednesday at 9:30 P.M. If they are canceled due to bad weather the fireworks are rescheduled for Friday night.

You can watch the fireworks display from the boardwalk or, slightly further removed, from the beach north of Casino Pier or the beach south of the Funtown Pier. You can also see the fireworks from the beach in Ortley Beach. If you have never had the chance to watch the show from the boardwalk you should experience it at least once. It is quite amazing to feel the thump of the firings and explosions while standing on the boardwalk with a large crowd. You can't help but add to the ooo's and aaa's that are uttered when each showy firework lights up the sky!

To give you a taste of what the show looks like, here is a video of the end of the big 4th of July fireworks show from 2007.
